SpringWell WS vs Aquasana Rhino Well with UV: which one your well needs

Short answer

They do different jobs. The SpringWell WS removes iron, sulfur smell and manganese. The Aquasana Rhino Well with UV filters taste, chlorine and chemicals and kills bacteria, but it needs water that already has iron under 0.3 ppm and hardness under 7 gpg. Wells with iron or a sulfur smell need the SpringWell first. Clean-mineral wells with bacteria or taste problems fit the Aquasana.

  1. Choose if you have iron, sulfur or manganese

Aquasana Rhino Well Water with UV

A whole-house carbon filter for taste, odor and chemicals, followed by a UV lamp for bacteria and viruses. It is not an iron filter.

    • UV: up to 99.8% of bacteria and viruses (maker's claim)
    • 500,000 gallons or 5 years
    • 7 GPM rated, 14.7 GPM peak

Some wells need both kinds of treatment: an iron filter first, then UV. In that case, pairing the SpringWell WS with a standalone UV costs less than adding the Aquasana's carbon stage you may not need.
